The Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology is excited to announce the development of a new on-line distance education program called Topics in Gerontology.  The goal of this new program is to provide additional valuable continuing education in aging for a wider audience interested in added competency in aging.  If you work with older adults as a social worker, service coordinator, housing administrator or staff, OT, PT, clinical staff, gatekeeper (hair stylists, bank teller, etc.) or other profession working with older adults, this program is for you!  The Modules: The new modules will be interdisciplinary in nature, with a focus on social and clinical gerontology.  We'll categorize these new modules, too, so that you can sort modules by your experience level, i.e., clinical, non-clinical, social services, support, etc.  The Faculty: Our faculty come from a variety of disciplines including social work, nursing, medical, speech and hearing, pharmacology, etc., and are excited about sharing their experience and knowledge of aging with you.  Faculty will be compensated through a royalty system based on module purchases.  The Launch Date: We've set a launch date for ourselves for the latter part of this Summer 2012; so watch for further announcements! If you are interested in developing a module for this new program, have a suggestion for a new topic, or have any further questions, contact Michelle Myers at 614-685-5672 or via e-mail at
